Well there was no chance of Stormgate being on the same level of an old Blizzard RTS, but it's gotta be better than anything new Blizzard would make for us.

I've always passed on the Age games. Making this my first one.

The whole problem is the unreal engine isn't really made for RTS and causes low FPS, while white all the money they should create there own engine from the scratch.

The game looks and plays so generic that I have zero interest in playing. SC2 blows this pos game out of the water.

I'm sorry to say it but Stormgate looks and plays like a thoughtless mish-mash of WC3, SC2, and Grey Goo (Celestial's nomad-style building mechanisms), devoid of original thought and vision. It feels soulless and haphazard. And they apparently even failed on the technical aspects, which they had touted at every turn. There's just nothing attractive about it. Forged Battalion, Grey Goo, Planetary Annihilation, BAR, SupCom, Executive Assault, Age of Darkness, They Are Billions, Ashes of the Singularity, Age of Mythology, AoE, SC2, WC3, C&C, etc... All great games with powerful identities and compelling innovations, which I would play before I would touch Stormgate.

A lil secret for all of you: In AoM retold, Age IV isnt the last age. They revamped a previous win condition. Thats all I'll say.

I’m a brand new RTS learner. Stormgate was my first, and now I’m trying SC2 since SG hasn’t panned out. I’ve been really on the fence because of the price and how complicated it looks. But I think this is the push I needed to hear to finally buy the game.

Hi everyone. This is for Age of Mythology RETOLD only. My mouse in Windows (10) is set to be very large, AND my system DPI is at 175% (w/ just 1 monitor), yet in game the mouse is really small, like it's not adjusted at all, and the game provides no way to change it. It sucks because I really appreciate all the new accessibility features for diabetes/low vision people like me, but somehow they didn't check this, most important thing? :( I managed to get through one test game, but every single time I had to move the mouse, it was a huge ordeal to find it and track that tiny thing across the screen, then select something. Absolutely awful, will have to refund since Google doesn't help. Can anyone help me please?

video is on point! the possibility to reconnect is so sick, was absolutely blasted when I got reconnected automaticly in a 2v2 because of a drop and we could finish the game after :)

I have been following the game since the studio has been assembled and I think they were very clear with their comunication, that they will be releasing the game in early access to do "open development" with the players. Trying to review the game in it's current state is just pointless. Either you have decided to ignore all the comminication from Frost Giant or did not understand what open development means. Your criticism is absolutely fine, but they for you have prezented it is a bit shitty imho.

I was a huge AOE2 player back in the early 2000s when it came out. We had some crazy wars against each other in our dorms. I did play AOM and loved it too, but not as much as AOE2. Life was just busier. I can’t freaking wait to sink my teeth back into this game. As much as I did play it back in the day, I never did the campaign. I’m old and slow now. I use to be able to beat two of my buddies 2v1 in AOE2. Those days are OVER!!! So this campaign is going to be fantastic!

Starcraft (the first), was my favorite game, not just my favorite RTS, for a long time. I loved these types of RTS games, with finite resources. But a few years back, i tried "Supreme Commander" (and now "Beyond all Reason"), and since than, i just can't get into these type of RTS games, so if Stormgate is not what it could be, i am fine with that.

Well you convinced me to get the game even though I planned on it beforehand. There's some minor settings things I gotta get sorted out before I plan online, but I'm enjoying it so far!

When I saw it has so much auto-production stuff I immediately lost all my hype to play. I hate that stuff which I know is probably the minority opinion, but I don’t like it.

1:37 100% I've always felt that way about SG. Part of their problem is the TTK. Things take forever to die. Consequently, all your units don't feel very powerful. Some people like to act like the low TTK aspect in SC2 is a bad thing, I'd argue it's a great thing. Imagine how less punchy a Siege tank would feel if it didn't past on Marines and they didn't explode into pieces but instead took several shots to kill them. It'd be so underwhelming. Side Note: As I watch this video. I never played this game but I love the OP, units flying as they die, titans, stuff that seems badass OP over the top. That's the fun stuff. RTSs (cough stormgate) needs more of that.

If anyone wants to try an aoe open source to see if you like the style try 0 ad.

I may be a bit different from most AoM players, but for me the best part of AoM is the editor and how EASY is it is to customize it / mod it - at least compared to AoE4, which is a lot harder to play with. All the crazy units/god powers you have available already, are amazing assets for making custom scenarios / random maps / gamemodes. It is just so incredibly fun .... of course, needless to say, campaigns are TOP NOTCH - I hope they add more

Stormgate vs Mythology is the epitome of work smarter, not harder. Rollback netcode is a highly-advanced, predictive lag compensation system which was crafted specifically for 1v1 fighting games, which are simple on the technical level but very hard to play. Stormgate tries to adapt that system to an RTS with hundreds of units and ends up with like 25 fps. Age of Mythology makes an autosave and loads your game if you need it to.

I can't stop playing it. I hope the playerbase gravitates towards multiplayer mostly

Went back to playing it yesterday. It is a bit archaic in places, but I love it about as much as I did as a kid. Wish workers were a bit smarter.

I played the beta, and there was thing that made me question if the devs have played their own title. But the biggest issue I had, was the overall style and game. I legit don't care for the units or anything, nothing seems very inspired to me one way or another. To me the factions seems insanely boring, and the mobs I remember having no unified look/style that striked me as odd, and something I was not a fan of. Which you were on a bit. Overall, it is a title I care little for, I am an RTS fan still. But I'd rather just boot up C&C: Kane's Wrath or something istead tbh.

lowkey id play this if it had a little more visual clarity, and the polish of a modern game. Many will disagree with me, but if the artstyle, graphics, and sound don't appeal to me, Im unimmersed. The only exception for me is if it has a stellar 10/10 story. I just have too ADHD its already hard enough for me to pay attention 😂

This why CnC series was so great. It always "spicy" gameplay. where unit have hard counters that REALY HARD. But. You also have big comeback mechanics starting from commander abilities, and even just rebuilding base/army in few minutes. IF you have resources. While something like SC2 battlecruiser take 2+ minutes to produce, GDI Mammoth tank take only 25 SECONDS. This allow to combine low TTK like starcraft, but also to have comeback mechanic unlike SC2 or stormagate

As an 8 year old kid, the fun and exciting moments were so good in this game. Having cyclops's throw dudes across the screen, krakens dragging a boat into the water. Stormgate truly does feel lifeless in comparison T_T and i cant wait to play aom

One huge improvement to sc2 would aready be if you could instantly start games at 5 minutes, or even at 30 minutes for all that matters. Imagine if you could just take some pro game, load it to mid or lategame when it's more or less even and just spam the "fun" part, where there's tons of stuff to do and what you actually want to improve at, instead of being forced to play the same 5-10 min early game every single time. You could just quickly set your hotkeys the way you want and then go, or even do it with your own games
